Katherine Sue Morgan

Katherine Sue Bogie Morgan, 80, of Independence, died Sunday afternoon, December 2, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. She was born December 28, 1931 in Mt. Sterling to the late Jim and Bethel Thompson Bogie.

Katherine, a Montgomery County native, moved to Kenton County in the mid 1950's. She retired from the Kenton County School System where she worked as a Food Service Manager. Katherine enjoyed cooking and she had a love for pets. Her compassion and big heart for pets made her well known for taking in numerous strays.

Survivors include; one son, Mark Morgan, Jr. (Sharon) of Independence; one sister, Bethel Shultz of Mt. Sterling; one brother-in-law, Deacon Jones of Mt. Sterling; one sister-in-law, Anna Irene Denniston of Cincinnati; one great grandson, Marcus Pender of Independence; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Morgan, Sr.; one brother, James Bogie; one sister, Elizabeth "Lib" Jones; one brother-in-law Jim Shultz.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Montgomery County Humane Society, PO Box 123, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 11:00AM at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will be a private family service. Pastor Rick Johnson will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Tim Murphy, Tyler Murphy, Jim Smith, Michael Smith, Tony Shultz, Kyle Shultz, Hagan Shultz, Deacon Jones, and Marcus Pender.
