Kathryn "Kathy" Lee Craycraft, 75, a dedicated secretary in the guidance department at Montgomery County High School and a beloved member of the Mt. Sterling community, passed away on October 3, 2024, at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. Born in Mt. Sterling, on November 20, 1948, to the late Omer and Virginia Riddle Horseman. Kathy was known for her unwavering work ethic, love for her family, and passion for various hobbies.
Throughout her life, Kathy found joy in the simple pleasures. An avid reader, she found solace in the pages of books and cherished moments spent crafting beautiful garments through her love of sewing. A devoted fan of UK basketball and sports in general, Kathy found excitement in cheering on her favorite teams. Traveling to new places, tending to her yard with pride, and attending church were among her favorite pastimes. She was a private person but always made time for her family, friends, and neighbors, who held her in high regard.
After her retirement from AO Smith, Kathy dedicated her time to her family, especially her daughter Melissa Canada (Lynn); grandson, Brennan Canada; siblings, Billy Horseman and Jean Otis.
In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Craycraft.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Kathy's life will take place at the First Church of God on October 9, 2024, at 10:00am, following a visitation on October 8, 2024, at 6:00pm to 8:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor David Dooley, Rev. Keith Ruthenburg and Ray Robertson will be officiating.
Kathy's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, dedication, and love. May she rest in peace.
