Kenneth Ray Gardner, 52, of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday evening at the St. Joseph-Mt. Sterling Hospital. He was born October 7, 1959 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Boyce and Barbara Gardner.
Kenneth moved to Montgomery County in 1996 from North Carolina, he was an engineer at Cooper Standard and a member of the Hicks Grove Baptist Church in Mooresboro, North Carolina. Kenneth really enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Survivors include; his wife of thirteen years, Wanda Gardner of Mt. Sterling; two sons, Clifton Gardner of Richmond and Ron Stockdale of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Ciera Gardner of Boone, North Carolina and Laura Spencer of Mt. Sterling; his mother, Barbara Garner of Mooresboro, North Carolina; one brother, Mitchell Gardner (Libby) of Mooresboro, North Carolina; one sister, Angie Murray of Mooresboro, North Carolina; one grandson, Nathan Stockdale of Nicholasville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Boyce Gardner.
Funeral is Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation is Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be at Jeffersonville Assembly of God. Burial will follow at the Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling. Pastor Robbie Conn and Bro. Doyle Keeton will be officiating.
Pallbearers are Tim Starnes, Ethan Gardner, Robbie Elliott, Matt Carter, Billy Williams and Wesley Greene.
