Kenneth "Kenny" Daryl McCarty

February 3, 1949 — September 16, 2013

Kenneth "Kenny" Daryl McCarty, 64, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, September 16, 2013 at his residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 3, 1949 in Morgan County to the late Earnie and Victorine Lykins McCarty.

Kenny was a long time resident of Montgomery County and a member of Botts Christian Church. He was employed at Engle Construction as a skilled carpenter until his retirement. His exceptional talent in carpentry was also a hobby of his; after his retirement he enjoyed woodworking is his barn making many beautiful pieces of furniture and cabinetry. Above his passion for woodworking was spending time with the love of his life, his nine year old granddaughter, Mallory.

Survivors include; his wife of thirty-nine years, Christine Francis McCarty of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Lisa Gail McCarty Muncie (Travis) of Jeffersonville; one granddaughter, Mallory Fielder of Jeffersonville; two brothers, Bert McCarty of Jeffersonville and David McCarty of Bath County; one sister, Norma Lee Centers of Mt. Sterling; two nephews, Bert Brashear of Middletown, Ohio and Joe Centers of Mt. Sterling; two nieces, Heidi Holt of Middletown, Ohio and Robin McCarty of Jeffersonville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold McCarty and Gene McCarty.

A special thanks to his two special sisters-in-law, Connie and Darlene for all their loving care and support throughout Kenny's illness.

Pallbearers: Jerry Hudson, Chris White, Roger White, Darrell White, Taylor Holt, and Joe Centers.

Honorary Pallbearers: Carl Williams, David Myers and Robert Thorpe.
