Kevin Dean Carr, 61, of Murphy, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Signature Healthcare at Tanbark in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Anderson, Indiana on April 29, 1959. Kevin was the son of Charles Franklin and Evelyn Setters Carr.
Kevin moved to Texas from Indiana after graduating from ITT Technical School and worked for Texas Instruments for several years after which he became a police officer with the Plano police department. He gave up his dream job as a police officer due to back and knee issues and retired from the police department in the city of Plano, working in information services. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of Creekwood United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas. He enjoyed; all things Dallas Cowboys, wood working, collecting guns and knives, he liked to take his kids shooting, and he loved his family and dogs. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife; Susan Marie Sullivan Carr of Murphy Texas; his mother; Evelyn Setters Carr of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; one son; Brian Carr of Murphy, Texas and one daughter; Allison Carr of Murphy, Texas; many cousins and family members who loved him deeply.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father; Charles Franklin Carr.
Funeral service for Kevin Carr will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 12:00PM. Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM - 12:00PM, both will be at First Church of God, Mt. Sterling. Pastor David Dooley will be officiating. Interment will follow additional services in his home town in Texas.
