Laurine Grant

November 12, 1935 — February 14, 2025

Mt. Sterling

Laurine Marie Grant, 89, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 12, 1935, in Bangor, Maine, to the late William "Willie" and Anna Babin Duprey.

Laurine was a proud descendant of French-Canadian heritage. Her strong will and forthright nature endeared her to all who knew her.

Laurine dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, pouring her heart into every aspect of her home life. She found joy in various pursuits, from her passion for

reading, painting, and working on intricate puzzles, to tending her beloved cats and enjoying the beauty of birds in her backyard. A lover of Christmas, she curated an impressive collection of Santa Clauses that brought warmth and cheer to her home throughout the year.

In addition to her many interests, Laurine was a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan and cherished the countless adventures she embarked on with her husband, Bill, as they traveled together in their RV. Her commitment to genealogy reflected her deep

appreciation for family history and connections, qualities that she instilled in her loved ones. She donated her time by crocheting baby blankets to the UK Children's Hospital

Neonatal ICU, and spent many summers volunteering at Moosehorn US Fish and Wildlife Refuge, in Maine.

Laurine is survived by her daughters, Shannon Hardaswick (Edward), Lisa Crump (late Earl), Jeanine Lister (Bill McCann), and Anne Green (Bruce); grandchildren, Melissa Jasch (Keith), Daniel Keeling (Celeste), Meghan Shannon (Robert), Amanda Posick (Bobby), Siobhan Lister (David), Ciara Ratcliff (Justin), Alexandra Green, and Connor Green; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Roger Duprey (Susan), and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Laurine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Grant and siblings, Florence Rogers and Clarence Duprey.
