Laverne Vern Deim

Laverne "Vern" Deim, 64, of Frenchburg, died Thursday, April 23, 2020 at UK Hospital.  She was born in Owingsville on July 14, 1955 to Walter McGlothin and the late Lorena Sexton Shoemaker.

Laverne "Vern" Deim, 64, of Frenchburg, died Thursday, April 23, 2020 at UK Hospital.  She was born in Owingsville on July 14, 1955 to Walter McGlothin and the late Lorena Sexton Shoemaker.

Vern was of the Christian faith and grew up in Olympia.  She loved music and enjoyed singing especially with her father who played guitar.  Vern enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and spending time with her friends and family.  They will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband of seventeen years, John Deim of Frenchburg; one son, Andy Fritts (Ashley) of Owingsville; one daughter, Leslie Hensley (Joey) of Ohio; one stepson John Deim II (Jeannie) of Michigan; one stepdaughter Christina Profit of Michigan; her father, Walter McGlothin (Joyce) Olympia; one brother, Wayne McGlothin of Olympia; three sisters, Kathy Congleton (John) Richmond, Joan Norris Poe of Lexington and Debbie Osborne (Robert) of Lake Butler, Florida; five grandchildren, Amnesty, Asia, Landon, Adelynn and Cheyenne and one great grandson, Brian.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.
