Lema Chandler

Lema Faye Chandler, a beloved matriarch and steadfast friend, passed peacefully from this world on February 18, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on February 14, 1949, in Michigan, to the late Roy and Golden Caudill.

Lema was a devoted wife to her husband of 34 years, Danny Chandler, and a proud mother to her son, Robert Craycraft. She was the cherished grandmother to, Michelle Helton (Derek), Kimberly Blevins (Scott), Charles Patrick (Bobbi), Justin Patrick (Megan), Danielle Roberts (Travis), Brittany Wagoner, Kayla Irwin, and Spencer Bocook; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Sue Crump (Mack); several nieces and nephews. Lema's love for her family was immense, often finding joy in spending time watching her grandchildren play from the comfort of her porch.

In addition to her parents, Lema is preceded in death by three daughters, Janet Craycraft, Lisa Patrick, and Karen Irwin; one sister; four brothers, and two great grandchildren, Adalynn and Carson Roberts.

Lema dedicated 14 years to driving school buses for the Montgomery County School District, where she nurtured the young minds of her community. Beyond her profession, Lema was a woman of strong faith, whose love for God guided her actions and relationships.

Lema enjoyed gardening, filling her home with the vibrant colors of her blooming flowers, and often took pleasure in yard sales and puzzles. Her adventurous spirit led her on family trips to Pigeon Forge and camping with Danny at Bluegrass festivals, creating countless cherished memories along the way. A courageous woman, she was the rock of her family, always ready to provide support and love in times of need.

A celebration of Lema's life will be Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2:00PM. Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, both services will be at Spring Street Baptist Church.

She will be deeply missed, but her courage, love, and faith will forever inspire those she leaves behind.
