Lorena Mae Sexton Shoemaker, 79, of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at her residence. She was born May 22, 1937 in Owingsville to the late Ruth Walden and Alex Sexton, Sr.
Lorena moved to Montgomery County fifty years ago from Bath County. She enjoyed playing bingo, lottery, going to the casino, cooking, pets, serving the senior citizens, church and most of all, spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family, church family and friends.
Survivors include; her husband of sixteen years, Bush Shoemaker of Mt. Sterling; three daughters, Joan Norris of Lexington, Vern Deim (John) of Frenchburg and Debbie Osborne (Robert) of Lake Butler, Florida; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Griffith of Winchester, Geraldine Carmichael and Freda Vice, both of Sharpsburg; two special nieces, Beth Barrier (Chris) of Mt. Sterling and Pam Sturgill (Eddie) of Jeffersonville; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; two special friends, Kathy Hayes and Charlotte Henderson, both of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Howard Sexton, Coleman Sexton, Roger Sexton, Alex Sexton, Jr. and Tom Sexton; three sisters, Elizabeth Triplett, Virgie Maze and Helen Hatton.
Pastor Tim Cole will be officiating.
