Lorene Goldie Farris Givens

Lorene G. Givens, 86, a beloved mother, cherished friend, and diligent worker, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at the age of 86 to the late George and Gladys Farris.

Lorene was a devoted waitress at some of the finer restaurants known for her exceptional work ethic and a smile that brightened the restaurant atmosphere. She dedicated her life taking care of her family and being exceptional at everything she did.

Lorene is survived by her children, Bill Givens (Tammy), Dwayne Carr, Joanne Kraus (Mark), and Ian Givens (Sheri); numerous grand and great grandchildren; fur baby, Pumpkin; special friends, Shelly, Caroline, and Charlotte, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love and dedication.

In addition to Lorene's parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morris Givens; children, James Givens and Kenneth Givens; siblings, Joseph Farris, Irene Clark, and Dottie Adams.

A woman of Christian faith, Lorene was not only a protective mother but also a nurturing force who instilled values of hard work and perseverance in her children. She was fair yet tough, always striving to do what was right while providing a stable and loving environment. Beyond her roles as a mother, Lorene was an avid reader and an extraordinary cook, known for her delectable creations that brought family and friends together.

Together with her husband, Morris, she tended to a flourishing vegetable garden, lovingly preserving their harvest through canning. Her love for the simple pleasures of life. was curled up in the corner of the couch or in the chair, enjoying a good book. extended to her favorite television shows, including *The Big Bang Theory*, the Cooking Channel, and *Barnhouse Builders*, where she found joy and relaxation after a long day.

In honoring Lorene's memory, a memorial service's will be held in the near future. Details regarding the arrangements will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
