Marlene Trent Saunders

Marlene Trent Saunders, 71, of Mt. Sterling passed away on Monday evening, January 1, 2024, at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling Hospital.  She was born in Almont, Michigan on January 31, 1952, to the late Lester and Lucille Young Trent. 

Marlene was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be remembered for her firecracker personality and strong will.  She was previously employed by Jockey and Sylvania.  Marlene was an extremely loyal person who opened her home to anyone and had a love for animals.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends alike.    

Marlene is survived by her son, Jamie Saunders of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Lesly Arrasmith (Greg) of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, Dustin Saunders (Emily) of Lexington and Megan Ruark (Nick) of Mt. Sterling; brother, Michael Trent (Rhonda) of Nicholasville; sister, Teresa Phelps (Bill) of Frenchburg; special friend, Gerald Saunders of Ewing; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanie Branham and Brenda Patrick.
