Mary Sue Bailey

Mary Sue Sears Bailey, 93, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday evening, April 6, 2013 at Windsor Care Center. She was born on July 28, 1919 in Bath County to the late Grover and Laura Johnson Sears.

Mary was a long time resident of Montgomery County and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She owned and operated Bailey's Antiques for forty-five years along with her late husband, William Earl Bailey, to whom she married in 1935. Mary enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, cooking, family picnics and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include; one sister, Clara Gilvin of Mt. Sterling; daughter-in-law, Alice Bailey of Jeffersonville; five grandchildren, Betty Thorwart (Don) of Winchester, William Earl Bailey (Cheryl) of Lewisport, Kentucky, Bonnie Sue Bailey, Farrell Bailey (Anita), and Barbara Wilcox all of Jeffersonville; eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, William Earl Bailey; two sons, William "Bill" Irvine Bailey and Floyd Edward Bailey; one brother, Albert E. Sears, Sr.; one grandson, Darrell Bailey and a brother-in-law, Arthur Gilvin.

Pallbearers: Farrell Bailey, Anita Bailey, C.J. Bailey, Chassity Bailey, Brandon Calvert, and Tommy Woods.

Honorary Pallbearers: Billy and Patsy Mapel, Bush Stevenson, Doug and Judy Moore, and Adam Collins.
