Mary Margaret Robbins Collins, 78, of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday morning, December 15, 2013 at UK Medical Center. She was born November 8, 1935 in Bath County to the late William "Bill" and Edith Barber Robbins.
Mary was a longtime resident of Montgomery County and a member of Hope First Church of God. She was a 1980 graduate of Northern Kentucky State Vocational Tech School where she earned her LPN license. She retired from Mary Chiles Hospital after 20 years of dedicated service. Mary took lots of pride in being a great care giver and strived for excellence in her nursing field. Besides her passion for nursing she also enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, boating, horses, and working with plants and flowers. She liked sports of any kind and was an avid UK Wildcats fan but above all Mary enjoyed spending time with her family whom she dearly loved.
Survivors include; two sons, Barry Duff and Daniel Robbins (Alice) both of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Missy Willoughby (James) of Mt. Sterling; two sisters, Bonnie Cassidy and Faye Trimmer (Dave) both of Mt. Sterling; three grandchildren, Nicki Dunn, Lantz Coons (Ashley) and Joshua Robbins all of Mt. Sterling; three great grandchildren, Jacob Henchon, Jared Blackburn and Jordan Blackburn all of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, James Collins.
Pallbearers: Michael Powell, Ewell Cassidy, David Rose, Don Morton, Lantz Coons, and Dave Trimmer.
Honorary Pallbearers: Teddy Collins, Danny Whitaker, Craig Collins, Carolyn Brewer, and Ericka Napper.
