Mary Charles (Johnson) Hovermale

Mary Charles Johnson Hovermale, 92,  of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday, October 5, 2019 at her residence.  She was born on November 25, 1926 in Mt. Sterling to the late Charlie and Lottie Stockdale Johnson.

Mary was of the Christian faith, member of Somerset Christian Church and a Montgomery County native.    She enjoyed UK basketball, being a farmer's wife and cooking for the farm crew, listening to her husband play music especially during his birthday barn dances, she enjoyed red birds-cardinals, flowers and animals, especially dogs.  Mary loved spending time with her friends and family and they will miss him dearly.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Oakley (Ledford) of Mt. Sterling; one grandson, Chad Tipton (Rachel) of Lexington; three great grandchildren, Dylan Tipton, Chloe Tipton and Jocelyn Tipton; several nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Red" Hovermale.

Visitation gathering will be Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory.  Graveside funeral will follow at Machpelah Cemetery at 12:00PM.

Pallbearers: John Arnold, Mike Looney, Eddie Hatfield, James Pergram, Chad Tipton and Dylan Tipton.
