Michael Wayne Martin, 30, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday evening, June 29, 2012 in Clark County to a storm related accident. He was born August 4, 1981 in Lexington to Garry and Betty Martin.
Michael was a Montgomery County native, a farmer and previously attended Donaldson Road Baptist Church. Michael enjoyed fishing, UK basketball and football. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; his twin children, Zachary and Zoey Day of Jeffersonville; his father and mother, Garry "Mick" and Betty Martin of Mt. Sterling; one brother, Cody Martin of Mt. Sterling; two sisters, April Martin of Mt. Sterling and his twin, Michelle Martin of Mt. Sterling; maternal grandmother, Ada Martin of Mt. Sterling; one nephew, Dakota Martin from Mt. Sterling; one niece, Alexis Johnson from Mt. Sterling and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Frances Markland and his maternal grandfather, Everett Martin.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the "Make A Wish Foundation" 2545 Farmers Drive, Suite 300, Columbus, Ohio 43235 and "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital" 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
Funeral will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00AM at the Jeffersonville Assembly of God. Visitation will be Monday, July 2, 2012 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the Jeffersonville Assembly of God. Burial will follow at the Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor Robbie Conn will be officiating.
