Nettie Louise McCarty, 77, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday evening, May 18, 2012 at St. Joseph-Mt. Sterling. She was born April 1, 1935 in Magoffin County to the late Grove Sr. and Martha Green.
Nettie had a big joking personality; she enjoyed listening to all types of music and dancing. Her biggest passion was cooking large meals for everyone and enjoying her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include; three sons, David Farris (Patty), Roy Caudill and Jeffrey Farris, all of Ohio; three daughters, Nancy Baxter (Harlan) of Mt. Sterling, Debbie Crouch of Jeffersonville, Betty Joe Tucker (Eddy) of Arkansas; four brothers, Joe Green (Mandy) of Georgia, G.C. Green, Jr. (Patricia), Mike Green (Kathy) and Paul Green, all of Jeffersonville; one sister, Kay Walters of Hope; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie McCarty; one daughter, Teresa Rogers; one brother, Don Green and one grandchild.
Funeral will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 12:00PM with a visitation starting at 10:00AM at Queen Street Christian Fellowship on Queen Street. Burial will follow at the Fortune Cemetery.
Pallbearers: G.C. Green, Jr., Harlan Baxter, Jeffrey Baxter, Mathew Walters, Randy Farris and Doug Dykes.
