Newton "Wayne" Craig

October 26, 1943 — May 17, 2012

Wayne Craig, 68, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday evening at his residence. He was born October 26, 1943 in Mt. Sterling to the late Pierce and Oney Craig.

Wayne was a Montgomery County native and retired after 27 years of transporting freight as a truck driver. Wayne was a member of the Christian Assembly of God and he enjoyed fishing, UK Basketball and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family, church family and friends.

Survivors include; his wife of fifty-one years, Beverly Craig of Mt. Sterling; five sons, Darrell Craig of Mt. Sterling, Randy Craig of Winchester, Keith Craig (Patty) of Lexington, Ritchie Craig (Penny) of Jeffersonville and Blake Craig (Erin) of Mt. Sterling; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Dudley Pierce Craig and one sister, Betty Jean Paige.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Christian Assembly of God Playground Fund, 1834 Owingsville Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.

Funeral service will be Monday, May 21, 2012 at 1:00PM. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM, services will be at the Christian Assembly of God on Owingsville Road. Burial will follow the funeral at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg. Pastor Chad Belt will be officiating.

Pallbearers will include; Rich Goodan, Rusty Dunn, Gary Arnold, Rodney Agee, Bud Willoughby and Jimmy Thompson.

Honorary Pallbearers will include; Larry Craig, Mike Hargis, Mike Martin, Hank Dunn, Kenneth Spencer, Paul Reffitt and Robert Issacs.
