Ovie Emmitt Nealis, 57, of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1955 to China Nealis and the late Tommy Nealis.
Ovie was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of American Legion, and a graduate of Montgomery County High School. He attended Eastland Church of God, and was previously employed by Bob's Auto, East Kentucky Power, and most recently the state where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. Ovie had a passion for UK basketball and Nascar.
Survivors include; his mother, China Nealis of Mt. Sterling; two brothers, Tony Nealis of Largo, Florida, and Paul Nealis of Clearwater, Florida; one sister, Darlene Nealis Yeary of Mt. Sterling; three nephews, Douglas Jackson (Morgan) of Winchester, Christopher Jackson of Mt. Sterling, Patrick Clayton (Sarah) of Louisville; two nieces, Toni Clayton of Mt. Sterling, and Ashley Nealis of Orlando, Florida; a great nephew, Hayden Jackson of Winchester; and a great niece, Addison Thompson of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Ray Nealis and Arnold Douglas Nealis, and one sister, Deborah Nealis Clayton.
