Ralph "Bud" A. VanOrder, 75, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday morning at the St. Joseph-Mt. Sterling Hospital in Mt. Sterling. He was born October 18, 1936 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to the late Bert and Ida VanOrder.
Bud, previously of Elkhart, Indiana, moved to Montgomery County nine years ago. He was previously employed at Harnischfeger Mining Company as a computer draftsman. Bud served in the United States Army and was of the Lutheran faith. Bud really enjoyed the outdoors; photography, scenery, camping, water skiing, bike and motor bike riding. Bud was also a wood craftsman and made many furniture pieces and canoes. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; his wife of twenty-four years, Nancy VanOrder of Mt. Sterling; three daughters, Linda Diven (Brian), Susan Trampe and Kate VanOrder, all of Waukesha, Wisconsin; one step son, Joe White (Cheryl) of Middlebury, Indiana; one step daughter, Diana White of Indianapolis, Indiana; seven grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Robert VanOrder and two sisters, Adelaine Matkey and Thelma Schaffer.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:00AM at the Queen Street Christian Fellowship. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. Bro. Carlie Bellamy will be officiating.
