Rev. Ronald Eugene Brook

Rev. Ronald Eugene Brooks, Sr., 70, of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 5, 1944 in Frenchburg, to the late Glenn and Ella Ruth Manning Brooks.

Rev. Brooks was a member of Spruce First Church of God; he was a Sunday school teacher, a teacher at Shepherd's Shelter, and he held church services at Windsor Care Nursing Home. He enjoyed fishing, playing cornhole and was an avid card player. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include; his wife, Betty Ruth Oakley Brooks of Mt. Sterling; three sons, Donald "Don" Fugate of West Chester, Ohio, Ron Fugate of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ronald Eugene Brooks, Jr. (Kathy) of Jeffersonville; four daughters, Karen Denise Brooks of Drexel, Ohio, Tina Michelle Brooks of New Paris, Ohio, Marcella Borders (Raymond) and Jeannie Allen (Scott) both of Winchester; five brothers, Bobby Brooks (Sharon) and Larry Brooks (Gena) both of Ohio, Jimmy Brooks (Mitzy) and Gary Brooks both of Missouri, and Johnny Whitaker of Mt. Sterling; four sisters, Kay Dawson of Mt. Sterling, Shirley Chambers of Winchester, Wilma Jean Mays of Maryland, and Patty Chambers of Jeffersonville; twenty grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl "Yo-Yo" Chambers.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Rev. Ronald Brooks Funeral Fund; Coffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1334, Mount Sterling, Kentucky 40353.

Pallbearers: Randy Brooks, Jamie Knox, Ryan Allen, Tylor Borders, Chris Lawson, and Anthony Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers: Brothers-in-law and nephews.
