Richard Paul Boothe Sr., a beloved husband, father, and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully, engulfed in love, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born on July 27, 1958, in Joliet, Illinois. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family and friends.
Dick pursued his education with determination, achieving an MBA from St. Francis University in Joliet, Illinois. His career as a Locomotive Operations Manager for Canadian National Railroad highlighted his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence in the railroad industry prior to retiring.
An adventurous spirit, Dick loved to travel and often enjoyed motorcycle camping with his wife and family. He had a passion for barbecuing and took great pride in home improvement projects, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His carefree and relaxed demeanor, paired with his ability to find humor in life's challenges, and infectious belly laugh, made him a cherished friend and confidant. A man of few words, Richard possessed a remarkable ability to listen, offering wise advice and support to all who sought it.
Above all, Dick's greatest joy came from his family. He deeply loved his wife Claudia Critelli Boothe, his daughter Heather Boothe Laskey (Donald II), and his sons Benjamin Boothe (Deborah) and Bruce Boothe, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild on the way, and his sister, Beth Triezenberg. In his final moments, he expressed his love for them, a testament to the deep bond they shared. Dick also cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, instilling in them the values of love and kindness.
Dick is preceded in death by his son, Richard Boothe, Jr. and two sisters, Wendy Winters and Lisa Peters.
Dick will be remembered for his warmth, laughter, and the positive impact he had on those around him. His family and friends will carry his spirit with them as they navigate life without his physical presence.
A Celebration of Life will be announced later that will involve a motorcycle ride and barbecue with family and friends in his honor.
