Richard Franklin Craig, 78, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday evening, February 23, 2013 at UK Medical Center. He was born on June 17, 1934 to the late William and Pearl Craig.
Richard was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County; he retired from Hobart after twenty years and later was a minister at Full Gospel Word of God Church in Jeffersonville. Richard was a people person and really enjoyed preaching. He also enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, UK basketball and in his earlier years, playing softball. His biggest passion was spending time with his family.
Survivors include; two sons, Ricky Craig of Mt. Sterling and Tony Craig (Connie) of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Kathy Timblin (Kevin) of Hendersonville, TN and Tammy Romans (Danny) of Mt. Sterling; twelve grandchildren, Robin McCarty of Jeffersonville, Dustin Timblin of Nashville, Tennessee, Daphne Romans of Mt. Sterling, Allen Richardson of Owingsville, Zack Craig of Mt. Sterling, Cody Craig of Mt. Sterling, Nick Timblin (Laura) of Gallatin, Tennessee, Michelle Craig of Mt. Vernon, Ashley Craig of Mt. Vernon, Knesha Byrd of Jeffersonville, Matt Romans of Mt. Sterling, and Daniel Nickell of Winchester; one great grandchild, Tabitha Bowman of Mt. Vernon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2010 of fifty years of marriage, Jean Helton Craig; four brothers, Grover Craig, William Craig, Hansford Craig and Emery Craig and one sister, Virginia Hamilton.
Pallbearers: Zack Craig, Cody Craig, Allen Richardson, Matt Romans, Dustin Timblin and Nick Timblin.
