Richard Dean Walton

Richard Dean Walton, 53, of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday morning, February 10, 2013 at UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was born December 12, 1959 in Nelson County to Louise Pugh Walton and the late George Mose Walton.

Richard was a resident of Montgomery County, a member of Cornwell Christian Church, and former employee of City Cab until his retirement. He loved his family, his church family, studying the Bible, and singing.

Survivors include; his mother, Louise Pugh Walton of Mt. Sterling; his wife of 16 years, Bertha Hawkins Walton of Mt. Sterling; one son, Richard Mose Walton of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Sarah Walton of Mt. Sterling, Lori Bramel (Scott) of Mt. Sterling; four sisters, Karen Walton of Mt. Sterling, Barbara Gonzalez (Eliseo) of Mt. Sterling, Shirley Dyer (Frank) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Vicky Lacole (Mike) of Orlando, Florida; two grandchildren, Jonathan Lane and William Lane both of Mt. Sterling; father-in-law, Ford Hawkins, Sr. of Marion, Indiana; two brothers-in-law, Jason Colegrove of Mt. Sterling, and Ford Hawkins, Jr. (Rouie) of Walbash, Indiana; several nephews and nieces.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Geneva Colegrove.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Cornwell Christian Church, Lot 15 Tipton Trailer Court, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353; Attention: Vonley Haney.

Funeral will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 1:00PM at Cornwell Christian Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Cornwell Christian Church. Pastor Vonley Haney will be officiating. Burial will follow in Fortune Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Tony Roland, Vonley Haney, Jr., Doug Haney, Wally Martin, Dewayne Adkins, Ricky Banfield, Greg Manning, and Charlie Ison. Honorary Pallbearers: Johnny Adkins, Roy Lane, Timmy Spencer, Jr., Aaron Walton, Danny Clemons, and Rodney Sexton.
