Richard Wayne Manley, 76, of Mount Sterling, KY died Friday, May 14, 2021 at Saint Joseph Health Mount Sterling. Rick was born at Mary Chiles Hospital in Mount Sterling on May 2, 1945, the son of the late Stanley Manley and grandson of the late Jeff and Lillian Manley. He was a devoted husband of 56 years, loving father, and grandfather.
Rick was an active member of First Church of God – Mt. Sterling. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Mt Sterling #23 F & AM, and was also a Kentucky Colonel. He graduated from Mount Sterling High School in 1963. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran of the Army Reserves. His professional career included over 25 years at IBM-Lexmark in Lexington and 17 years at Apollo Oil in Winchester.
He is survived by his wife, Fredia (Rankin) Manley; one daughter, Natasha Manley Cook (Charles Cook) of Kuttawa, KY; two grandchildren, Caroline Syble Cook and Ashleigh Virginia Cook; brother-in-law; Jimmy Rankin (Grace); several nephews.
In addition to his father and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his aunts; Thelma (Manley) Lewis (Frank) and Erma (Manley) MaLoon (Ralph).
Rick loved playing golf with many close friends, UK/ Lyon Basketball and traveling. He and Fredia especially loved their trips to New York City and Cape Cod. But more than anything, he loved spending time with his granddaughters.
Services will be held at the First Church of God on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM preceding the Service at the Church. Pastor David Dooley will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Church of God – Mt. Sterling.
