Richard "Rick" T. Ochsne

Richard "Rick" T. Ochsner Jr. passed away on June 23rd, 2013 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was born on March 10th, 1955 to Richard and Mary Ochsner of Middletown, KY. Rick was a graduate of Eastern High School in Middletown and received a Bachelor of Science from Morehead State University. During his time with us, Rick was a loving father, son, brother, coach, mentor and friend. He proudly served 32 years as an engineer for the telephone company in Morehead, KY. He was also very instrumental in establishing the youth soccer program, serving as the first head coach of the Rowan County Lady Vikings. Rick became an avid cyclist, moving from a mountain bike to a road bike, he explored many Kentucky roads; always pedaling for that extra mile. He is survived by his parents Richard T. Ochsner Sr. and Anna "Mary" Newton Ochsner; children, Leigha B. Ochsner and Benjamin P. Ochsner and their mother Donna Farmer (Cook); twin sister, Anita O'Neill (Jim); brothers, Martin J. Ochsner (Ann), Michael L. Ochsner and Gary E. Ochsner, his love and best friend Sher'ee Ochsner, cousin, Marcy Walker Murdock and many other cousins, six nieces and nephews, three step children and three step grandchildren. Memorial visitations will be Thursday, 5pm till 8pm at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Rd. East Louisville and Friday, 5pm till 7pm at First Christian Church 222 E. Main St., Mt. Sterling, KY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may go to the Wounded Warrior Project, World Wildlife Fund and/or American Heart Association.
