Rodney Clay Napier, 67, of Sharpsburg, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 23, 1946 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Roosevelt and Golden Clark Napier.
Rodney was a self-employed carpenter and a veteran of the United States Army where he honorably served his county as a paratrooper during Vietnam. He will be remembered as a great story teller and a family man, spending time with his family was of most importance to him. He enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, working, playing Texas Hold'em, and sports, especially basketball.
Survivors include; his loving wife of 47 years, Carolyn Sue Napier of Sharpsburg; one brother, Jay Napier (Jean) of Ohio; daughter-in-law, Stacey Smith of Minnesota; two grandchildren, Nicole Napier of Minnesota and James Napier of Kentucky; great grandson, William James Thomas Atwell, IV of Minnesota; a special thank you to nieces and nephew, Susan Coffey, Katy Overholser, Jo Evans, and Jerry False.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Napier and James Napier.
