Roy Michael Cord

Roy Michael Cord, 70, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Monday morning, July 11, 2022 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.  He was born April 2, 1952 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Roy Smith Cord and Dorothy Orme Browne.

Roy was a Montgomery County native, of the Christian faith and previously a life insurance sales agent. He enjoyed his Mt. Sterling High School Trojan years playing football and track.  In later years, he could be found either at a fishing hole or on a golf course.  Roy will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Roy is survived by two sons, Mike Cord (Alice Lynn) and Jon Cord, both of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, April Cord Morrison (Jeff) of Lexington; six grandchildren, Presley Cord, Landon Cord, Gracen Cord, Sawyer Cord, all of Mt. Sterling and Liam Morrison and Marlowe Morrison, both of Lexington; one brother, John "Tim" Hash (Maria) of San Francisco, California; numerous cousins and a special friend, Jo Ann Hall of Jeffersonville.

In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by three brothers; Warren Hash, Wayne Hash and Ed Hash.

Celebration of Life Memorial will be Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00AM.  Visitation previously from 10:00AM-11:00AM, both services at Queen Street Christian Fellowship.  Pastor Harry B. Jones officiating.
