Ruth Hoover Barton, 82, of Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday morning, September 30, 2015, at her residence. She was born August 7, 1933 in Kline, West Virginia to the late Taylor and Maggie Kee Hoover.
Ruth moved to Montgomery County two and a half years ago from Martinsburg, West Virginia to be with her son and granddaughter. Ruth was a hard working woman, like many others in the past; she had to quit school early to help on the family farm. Later in life, she developed a passion for helping children and worked at a daycare. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, flowers and reading. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include; one son, Jimmy Hoover of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Linda Cameron of Virginia; four grandchildren, Caitlynn Hoover of Mt. Sterling, Amanda Cameron of North Carolina, Katelyn Simpson and Michelle Simpson, both of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Barton; her son, Ronald “Bucky” Hedrick and several brothers and sisters.
