Stephen Ellis Potter, 57, died Sunday morning, January 26, 2014 at UK Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1956 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Jack Potter and Patty Snyder.
Stephen was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, a graduate from Montgomery County High School in 1974 and he was a self employed mechanic. Stephen had a jokester personality, he was very compassionate, loved all types of animals and enjoyed traveling; especially to the beach.
Survivors include; one daughter, Kirstie Roberts (Aswan Alhamadani) of Winchester; his father, Jack Potter of Mt. Sterling; his mother, Patty Snyder (Howard) of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Diana Samsal of Courtland, Virginia; two uncles, Mitchell Potter of Winchester and Ted Potter of Mt. Sterling; two aunts, Alma Welch of Mt. Sterling and Anna Ruth Duke (John) of Xenia, Ohio; one nephew, Rob Samsal of Courtland, Virginia; one great nephew, Brayden Samsal of Courtland, Virginia; special friends, Marcus and Tyannia Highley of Mt. Sterling and his dog, Abby and cat, Nosie Rosie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Potter; his sister, Lisa Richardson; his paternal grandparents, Ira and Pearl Potter and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Lucille Reffitt.
Memorial service will be Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 3:00PM and a visitation prior at 2:00PM at Peeled Oak Christian Church. Pastor Hammer McGuire will be officiating.
