Teddy Wordson Jones, 74, of Morehead, died Friday, July 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 8, 1941 in Crix, Kentucky to the late John and Bessie Hargis Jones.
Teddy was a life-long resident of Rowan County, he was of the Baptist faith and an independent truck driver. He had a jokester personality, a people person that never met a stranger. Dearest to his heart besides his family was helping kids. Teddy enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, hunting and trapping. He was a handy man, he knew how to do just about anything; from gardening, welding, construction and farming. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; his beloved wife of fifty-three years, Mary Stiddom Jones of Morehead; one son, Timothy Jones (Kim) of Morehead; one daughter, Melissa Jones (Shannon) of Louisville; brother, Elmer Jones (Dale) of Morehead; sisters, Olonia Livingood (Mack) and Ethel Jones (Lynnvel), both of Morehead; two grandchildren, Matthew Jones and Maggie Jones, both of Morehead.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Duane Jones; seven brothers; Wilford Jones, Glendon Jones, Sherdon Jones, Clayton Jones, Vercil Jones, Wayde Jones and Dale Jones and four sisters; Amanda Brown, Carrie Jones, Anita Kershaw and Cathleen Kissick.
Special acknowledgement and thanks to the staff and nurses at St. Claire Oncology Center for their loving care. Also, to the singers and musicians who made their rounds in the oncology center during his treatments.
