Thomas Edward Cassada, 81, of Mt. Sterling passed away on Monday afternoon, May 29, 2023 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. He was born in Farmville, Virginia on August 14, 1941 to the late Carl and Leanah Bridgeforth Cassada.
Tom was of the Christian faith, a United States Veteran in the Army National Guard and received his master's degree in electrical engineering, retiring from IBM after many years. He had a playful and loving spirit and some of his hobbies included studying trends in the stock market, computer programming, playing computer golf games and cards such as poker as well as playing tennis in his younger years. He especially loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Carla Lemon of Carlisle; step-son, Wayne Mullins (Joyce) of Georgetown; step-daughter, Patsy Osborne (Terry Lay) of Mt. Sterling; three grandchildren, Grant Lemon, Mark Mullins (Kenetha) and Angel Little (Phillip); five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Elsie "Mickey" Oakley Cassada and his sister, Nancy Morgan.
