Timothy "Tim" Joseph Monaghan, 55, of West Liberty passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born October 11, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Audrey Ruth Amos Monaghan and the late John E. Monaghan.
Tim was an Indianapolis native and a 1976 graduate of Plainfield High School in Plainfield, Indiana. He later spent 25 years in Palm Beach County, Florida before moving to West Liberty a year ago. While in Florida he worked as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician at the West Palm Beach Fire Rescue Department. He was the Lead Fire Services Instructor, Deputy Chief of Operations and Deputy Chief of Safety at Palm Beach County Community College. Tim was the founder of the Irish Fireman's Derby and he made Vintage Reproduction Fire Helmets.
Survivors include his wife Jennifer Thornberry Monaghan of West Liberty; one daughter, Hannah Monaghan of West Liberty; his mother, Audrey Monaghan of Indianapolis, Indiana; three brothers, Patrick Monaghan (Robin) of Carmel, Indiana, Michael Monaghan (Beth) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Stephen Monaghan (Stephanie) of Clayton, Indiana; two sisters Frances Monaghan Ryan (Jerry) and Catherine Monaghan Bailey all of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, John E. Monaghan in 2011.
