Ura Bane Thompson, 88, of Prestonsburg, died Monday morning, May 7, 2012 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. She was born October 23, 1923 in Sherburne, Kentucky to the late Audie and Lena Hunt.
Mrs. Thompson, previously of Grayson and Bath County moved to Floyd County 47 years ago. She is of the Christian Church faith, a former Eastern Star, loved to cook and have family diners. Mrs. Thompson number one priority was her family, taking care of her late husband, Paul and her son, Paul Hunt Thompson, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include; one son, Paul Hunt Thompson (Donna) of Prestonsburg; one sister, Thelma Hunt Gulley of Sharpsburg; five grandchildren, Paul Thompson (Tabitha) of Prestonsburg, Charles Thompson (Cassy) of Wheelwright, John Thompson (Marla) of Prestonsburg, Jody Conn (Melissa) of Prestonsburg and Chesa Shelton (Steven) of Prestonsburg and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse "Kash" Hunt and Ralph Hunt.

Memorial service will located at the Sharpsburg Christian Church, Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 6:00PM. Pastor Danny Curry will be officiating.
