Uriah "Junior" Holley

Uriah "Junior" Holley, 88, of Mt. Sterling  died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling.  He was born May 27, 1929 to the late Uriah and Clarice Reid Holley Sr.

Junior was a lifelong resident of Mt. Sterling where he was a member of Hope First Church of God for 50 years.  In his retirement as a manager from Tennessee Gas Pipeline, he loved farming, raising livestock, traveling, UK sports and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include; his wife Marie Pitts Holley of Mt. Sterling, three sons, Phillip Holley (Bessie), Barry Holley (Reva) and Uriah  "Skip" Holley III (Charity) all of Mt. Sterling; one sister Imogene Bashford (Billy) of Winchester; four grandchildren, Brian Holley (Brandy), Tessa Wells (Lynn), Nikki Holley and Skylar Holley; six great-grandchildren, Macy Hudson, Hayden Holley, Landon Holley, Liza Holley, Jack Holley and Chandler McCoy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Leoma Maloney and Sue Winburn, and grandson, Lyle Bradford Holley.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Hope Hill Youth Services, 700 Hope Hill Road, Hope, KY 40346.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:00AM.  Visitation will be Friday, April 6, 2018, 5:00PM to 9:00PM, both services at Hope First Church of God.  Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery.  Bro. Glennis Sizemore and Bro. Stanley Hutchinson officiating.

Pallbearers: Brian Holley, Skylar Holley, Jerry Maloney, Tim Maloney, Buddy Cruse and Chris Maloney.

Honorary Pallbearers: Gary Ballard, Bobby Ballard, Floyd Ballard Jr., Billy Winburn, Billy Bashford, Denny Shelley, Chuck Toy, Lee Tyra, Gary Bowling, Blue Grass Gospel Boys, Harlan Tackett, Hubert White and Kenneth Pitts.
