Victoria Jean Mason, 55, of Campbellsville, died Sunday morning, July 16, 2017 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born November 17, 1961 in Mt. Sterling to Fred and Anna Jones Mason.
Victoria graduated in 1979 from Montgomery County High School, then obtained a B.A. and Masters from EKU. She taught for thirty years and retired in 2014 from the Taylor County school system. Victoria joined and was a faithful member of KEAS Tabernacle C.M.E. Church in Mt. Sterling at an early age until she moved Campbellsville where she joined Fannie Chapel C.M.E. Church. She was also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta. Victoria loved to laugh and have fun, she often said "Shut up fool", after hearing a funny story. She will be dearly missed by her family, church family and friends.
Survivors include; one son, Demonte Nigel Spurling of Campbellsville; two grandchildren, DeZalen Spurling and DeZhiya Spurling, both of New Jersey; her parents, Fred and Anna Jones Mason of Mt. Sterling; one brother, Darrell Mason of Lexington; one sister, Dinah Johnson of Winchester; special friend, Larry White of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Vincent Mason.
Funeral will be Friday, July 21, 2017 in Campbellsville at the Fannie Chapel C.M.E. Church at 1:00PM with Rev. Dewayne Golightly officiating, Visitation will be prior from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Burial will be the following day, Saturday, at Olive Hill Cemetery in Mt. Sterling at 10:00AM with Rev. Gregory Bonner officiating.
