Wanda Faye McIntosh Jones, 74, a beloved member of the Mt. Sterling community, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born on September 29, 1950, in Mt. Sterling to the late Frank and Lillian McIntosh. Wanda was a devoted homemaker who poured her love and energy into her family and faith.
As a First Lady and a cherished member of Community Christian Church, Wanda dedicated her life to serving the Lord and sharing the gospel alongside her husband, Jerry Jones, Sr. Her unwavering faith was evident in her actions, as she embraced her role as a pastor's wife with grace and enthusiasm. Wanda's spirit radiated love and kindness, always nurturing those around her.
Wanda was not just a homemaker; she was the heart of her family. She took great joy in caring for her loved ones, attending every activity and event that her children and grandchildren participated in. Her warm meals and smiles were central to countless family gatherings, where she created lasting memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Wanda also enjoyed embracing new journeys and vacations, making lasting memories with her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Jones, Sr.; her son, Jerry Jones, Jr.; her daughter, Jonikka Jones Vallejo (Jason); grandchildren Jerryn Jones, Jerryd Jones, Peyton Ethington, Jerion Jones, Lamar Jones, Matteo Vallejo (Kendyll), and Jordan Vallejo; and great-grandchild, Bennett Vallejo; her sister, Carol Davis; sister friend, Diana White; bonus daughters, Lynn Boyd, Carmela Fletcher Green, Leisha Oaks, Kim Hartgrove, and Robbi Barber; host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to Wanda's parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Louise Vice and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold Jones, Jr. and Mary Florence Jones Norris.

In celebration of Wanda's life and legacy, a visitation will be held at High Street Christian Church on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Her funeral service will take place at the same venue on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Reverend Tony Barber will be officiating.
As her family gathers to honor her, they invite all who knew Wanda to join them in remembering a remarkable woman whose love, faith, and dedication will resonate in their hearts forever.
