Wendell Grant Helton, 75, of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. He was born October 25, 1938 in Morgan County to the late Kelly Clayton and Gracie Day Lawson Helton.
Wendell was a retired truck driver and formerly employed by Trojan. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna Easter Centers Helton of Mt. Sterling; two sons, Jeff Helton of Mt. Sterling and Michael Helton of Frenchburg; three daughters, Rebecca Henderson of Jeffersonville, Debbie Wesley (Mikey) of Frenchburg and Kelli Beltran (Leon) of Mt. Sterling; two brothers, Roger Helton and James "J.B" Helton (Bobbie) both of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Fay Maze (Gilmore) of Mt. Sterling; four grandchildren, Tiffany Patrick, Cody Henderson, Daniel Grant Henderson, and Febe Wesley; one great grandchild, Pepper Shea.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a four brothers, Vernon Helton, Dorsie Helton, Orvin Helton, and Ed Helton; three sisters, May Helton, Corine Cole and Jean Craig.
Pallbearers: Jeff Helton, Cody Henderson, Mikey Wesley, Brent Helton, Tony Craig, Brian Rudd, Daren Helton, and Leon Beltran.
