William Henry Carpenter, 87, of Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at UK Medical Center. He was born February 9, 1929 in Bath County to the late John and Ashby Stull Carpenter.
William was a life-long resident of Montgomery County, a United States Army Korean War veteran, he retired from the Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot and a member of the Hope First Church of God. William had a gentle kind spirit, he loved to read the Bible and spend time with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; one daughter, Delores Carpenter of Birmingham, Alabama; one grandson, Anthony Carpenter of Mt. Sterling; two great grandchildren, Tylor Carpenter and Alexis Carpenter, both of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2006, Elizabeth Perkins Carpenter; three brothers, Glenwood Carpenter, Andrew Carpenter and Tinsley Carpenter; one sister, Irene Williamson.
Pastor Glennis Sizemore will be officiating along with military honors.
