William "Bill" Manley, 91, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Bath County, Kentucky on February 28, 1929 to the late Lindsey "Chuck" and Bessie Jones Manley.
Bill moved to Montgomery County fifty-six years ago from Bath County and he was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Fellowship Gospel Church in Sharpsburg. Bill was a farmer, he enjoyed; gardening, reading, being outside, Cincinnati Reds and his cat, Smokey, but most of all, providing for his family. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
Bill is survived by two grandchildren, Chuck Bartley (Kim) of Mt. Sterling and Diedre Bartley Lovell (Joe) of Elizabethtown; three great grandchildren, Justin Bartley of Lexington, Dalton Daugherty of Jeffersonville and Jenna Bartley of Mt. Sterling; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna "Ann" Moran Manley; two sons, Freddy Manley and John Manley; one daughter, Patricia "Pat" Manley Bartley; three brothers, John Manley, James Manley and Walter "Shaq" Manley; three sisters, Ida Bell Bailey, Lillian Dunaway and Madge Richards.
Graveside services will be Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg at 10:00AM. Chuck Bartley will be officiating.
